What are the MAZDA Maintenance Schedules?
Regular maintenance is necessary to keep your new Mazda vehicle running smoothly on the streets of Bronx. But which services do you need to get done, and how often? The best place to seek help is at your local Mazda Service Center at Mazda of New Rochelle or in your owner’s manual to ensure your vehicle receives the care it needs. Let’s take a look at the maintenance schedules of the Mazda3, the Mazda6, the Mazda CX-5, the Mazda CX-30, and the Mazda CX-50.
Mazda3 Maintenance Schedule
The Mazda3 maintenance schedule depends on whether you set the oil change maintenance monitor to “Flexible” or “Fixed,” whereas most Mazda vehicles are pre-set with the “Flexible” oil change monitor system. The monitor indicates the frequency at which you should check certain elements of your vehicle. Here is the Mazda3 maintenance schedule to follow at your Manhattan-area service center:
- On a “Flexible” Oil Change Monitor Setting: Replace oil when the wrench indicator is ON. Max interval is 12 months / 10,000 miles. At this time, you should also replace the air filter and cabin air filter.
- On a “Fixed” Oil Change Monitor Setting: Replace the oil every 6 months, and replace the air filter at 30 months and the cabin air filter every two years.
- Every Year: Check the disc brakes.
- Every Two Years: Check the brake lines, fuel lines, hoses, fuel hoses, front and rear suspension, steering operation, driveshaft dust boost, and connections. Also tighten bolts, nuts, chassis, and the body.
- Every Three Years: Check the drive belts.
- Every Four Years: Check the hoses and tubes for emission, exhaust system, and heat shields.
- Replace engine coolant at 120,000 miles / 10 years or 60,000 miles / 4 years, depending on coolant type. After first replacement, change at 60,000 miles / 5 years and 60,000 miles / 4 years, respectively.
- Replace spark plugs at 75,000 miles
- Rotate tires every 5,000 miles
Mazda6 Maintenance Schedule
Follow the Mazda3 maintenance schedule for yearly, bi-yearly, and three-year maintenance needs. Otherwise, here is the Mazda6 maintenance schedule:
- Every Three Years: Replace the air filter.
- Every Four Years: Inspect hoses and tubes for emission.
- Every Five Years: Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.
- Replace Engine Oil and Filter when the wrench indicator light is on. The maximum interval is 12 months / 7,500 miles.
- Replace spark plugs with SKYACTIV®-G 2.5 every 75,000 miles, and every 40,000 miles with SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T.
- Rotate tires every 7,500 miles.
- Replace engine coolant at 120,000 miles / 10 years, and at 60,000 miles / 5 years after the first replacement.
- Replace the cabin air filter every two years.
- Inspect emergency flat tire repair kit annually if installed.
- If submerged in water, replace the rear differential and transfer oil annually.
Mazda CX-5 Maintenance Schedule
When it comes to the Mazda CX-5 maintenance schedule, it is recommended to follow the Mazda6 maintenance schedule for most tasks. However, it’s important to replace spark plugs every 40,000 miles when you have the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T, and every 70,000 miles on any other engine.
Mazda CX-30 Maintenance Schedule
Your Mazda CX-30 maintenance schedule initially requires work every 7,500 miles. See below for guidance on the Mazda CX-30 maintenance schedule:
- Every 7,500 Miles: Complete your first service interval check up, which includes an oil change, tire rotation, and brake inspection.
- Every 15,000 Miles: Along with the general tasks every 7,500 miles, this maintenance marker indicates that it’s time to check fuel lines, hoses, suspension elements, disk brakes, and more. You should also replace your cabin air filter.
- Every 45,000 Miles: At this point, your Mazda CX-30 maintenance schedule notes that it’s time to replace the engine air filter (if needed).
- Every 120,000 Miles: In addition to the aforementioned regular maintenance, this mileage marker indicates that it’s time for a coolant replacement.
Mazda CX-50 Maintenance Schedule
The Mazda CX-50 maintenance schedule is quite similar to the Mazda CX-30 maintenance schedule. Still, it’s important to note the intervals associated with certain tasks in the Mazda CX-50 maintenance schedule. See below for details:
- Every 5,000 Miles: Replace oil and oil filter, complete a general inspection, and check tire pressure.
- Every 10,000 Miles: Add in a wheel alignment check, tire rotation, and fuel lines and hose inspection.
- Every 20,000 Miles: Tighten nuts and bolts and inspect brake lines, power steering, and front and rear suspension components, to name a few.
- Every 30,000 Miles: Replace the cabin air filter.
- Every 40,000 Miles: Replace transmission oil (especially if you have a manual transmission) and check drive belts.
- Every 75,000 Miles: Replace spark plugs.
- Every 120,000 Miles: Replace engine coolant and keep up with other maintenance intervals.
